Amenities
Hotel Akerreta is a small family-run bed and breakfast. It took the owners 4 years to rehabilitate this charming country hotel.
The farmhouse called Sastrearena, a typical Basque caserio of the Pyrenees, was built in 1723. It has been catalogued by the institute for the preservation of the local patrimony “Principe de Viana” for its historical and architectural interest.
The stone-wall house still conserves its original Pyrenees-style kitchen and its bread oven. The enormous oak wood beams, webbed to create the structure of the house, reveal the historical power of the homestead.
It combines perfectly rustic taste with modern amenities.
The hotel also has several living rooms and cozy spots where guests can read in calm surroundings while enjoying the valley´s panoramic views of mountains and meadows. In the winter guests can chat next to the fireplace; or sit on the terrace or recline on a lounge chair in the garden during the summer.

Services
In our restaurant you will be able to taste traditional Navarrese cuisine with organic home-grown vegetables from our garden combined with local products, as well as homemade desserts.
In order to guarantee a calm and intimate evening for our guests, the restaurant is exclusive to clients of the hotel.
The hotel offers nine spacious double rooms and two individual rooms distributed on two floors. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms equipped with hair dryers. Although each room is different, they all share the original oak wood beam frame, oak wood floors, and stucco walls.
Hotel Akerreta has been tastefully furnished and decorated with elements of the period it was built in, thus retaining the original style of the houses in the area.
Hotel Akerreta, situated above the valley in a privileged enclave within the village of Akerreta, offers wonderful views of the surrounding forests, meadows and mountains.
We are located 15 km from Pamplona, 40 km from the forest of Irati, the second largest beech tree forest in Europe, 28 km from Roncesvalles and 12 km from the beech tree forest of Quinto Real. On the other hand, if you would like to visit the Basque coast or the French coast they are 70 km away.
Hotel Akerreta is an ideal starting point for those travelers who want to visit the different zones of Navarra and its surroundings.
We are also on Saint James’s Way (El Camino de Santiago), at the end of the first stage, starting from Roncesvalles.
