Comforts

Located strategically within walking distance of the church, our hostel is one of the oldest houses in the old city.

Completely refurbished and redesigned, this pretty house with four floors is now a warm and comfortable accommodation for 15 people.

As travelers and ancient pilgrims, we wanted a warm and friendly atmosphere. It is our home and is furnished and equipped as any house, intending to welcome you to your overnight stop or more, rest, share experiences and meet other walkers. At the foot of the hostel, in the alleys of the village, you will find restaurants, shops and all services in the small fortified town.

Surroundings

"In the Basque Country, the Way of St James crosses a remarkable mountain called Cize Port ... To pass, eight miles up and down both. Indeed, this mountain is so high that seems to touch the sky; who does the climb thinks he/she is able to touch the sky in his own hand..."
It's like that, but of course in Latin, that the French monk Aimery Picaud, described this stage in the first "Pilgrim's Guide" ever written, and that in the year 1135!

Millions of pilgrims later, the mountain is in the same place and the pilgrim is confronted with it when crossing to Roncesvalles. We must not close our eyes, the stage is serious with its 27 km and 1200 m of altitude. But we are there to prepare it with you, discuss it and thus help to transform this legendary stage in a great and wonderful time!
